Tommy Shaw

My favorite member is Tommy Shaw. I love his voice, his eyes, his smile, the way he walks, the way he talks. I love everything about him!
I think he gets a lot of crap for what happed with them and Dennis, but the others were involved as well. According to the book "Grand Dillusion" Tommy started talking about what was going on with fans online and got tons of crap for it causing him to not be as outgoing with the fans as he was. This may be why he is the illusive member of the band. Sour fans spoiled him for those of us who love him and want to get to know him. I hate it when I read an article saying bad things about Tommy because I believe that it was not any one member that caused the break up but Dennis had just as much to do with it as everyone else.
Anyway, Tommy is funny and smart, talanted and he sings, well like an angel. I could listen to him sing all day and all night. The fact that he absolutely loves what he does for a living shows when he is on stage, and that is admirable.
I have come to know more about the other members of the band and I really like everyone else as well. They all have great personalities and seem like a lot of fun. I have met JY and hope to meet everyone else.

me too! Tommy is amazing in sooo many ways....i love him so much! i can't see how anybody could find something negative to say about him. i don't get it.....he's like......perfect. i dunno wtf is up with some people.
he's my favorite guy guitarist/singer/songwriter EVER....Nancy Wilson (of Heart) being my favorite girl heh heh. ;)
but when ever i have a bad day or am feeling sad about something....Tommy is always there to get me through it. his voice soothes me. it's like magic.
Tommy....if you ever read this....i just want you to know you are the BEST. I love you and the band forever.

I'm not saying that Tommy is innocent but I don't think he desurves the ridicule that he gets by some people. There is not any one person who is liked by everyone, but it still makes me mad.
In my eyes Tommy is as close to perfect as you can get. I don't see anything to change my oppinion of him as well.
I also think Chuck can be defined the same. There aren't enough good guys in the world so those that are should be praised.

I first started liking Tommy because I thought he was cute (I was 5 years old, lol). Then I started listening to his music, and I was hooked. He does seem like a nice, funny guy (from what I've heard/read about him). I agree with what Mia said about some of the fans being to blame for the fact that he won't interact with us so much. He probably doesn't want to be "ambushed" or whatever by a Dennis fan. But that means the rest of us won't ever get to know him on a personal basis, and that sucks. Maybe someday we will be able to meet him though.

Tommy is my favorite too! When I first heard him sing I thought, Oh...My...God! He has the voice of an angel! :) I love everything about him too; his beautiful blue eyes, his gorgeous smile, his voice, his excellent guitar playing skills.
I admire him so much. When I tell some of my friends how much I love STYX and Tommy Shaw, they always tease me about me being crazy over a man who is my parents' age. But I don't care what they say. I will always love Tommy Shaw, and his wonderful music. :)

Yeah, my friends joke with me about his age too because he is 2 yrs older than my dad and all I say is that I don't care.

He's almost 19 years older than I am, but I don't care. I like guys my own age, of course, but when you've got someone like Tommy, with looks, personality, and talent, it shouldn't matter how old they are. I'd love him if he was 80. :)

Rachel, I get teased a lot about Styx too. I'm in my late 30's. My 16 yr old daughter used to tease me a lot about having liking the "old men" in Styx. Then one day she walked the computer, where I was looking at another fans' pics of Tommy online. She immediately stopped and said "Ooh, he's HOT! Who is he?" I got a lot of satisfaction in telling her "He's the OLD MAN in styx that you tease me about liking." I got an immediate apology. LOL

Tommy Shaw is also my favorite band member. I saw STYX for the first time in the 70's on their Grand Illusion tour. Tommy was really the youngest in the band and he was just sooooo energetic and damn happy to be in STYX!!! I was 14 years old, and I could see he was just absolutely floored to be a big part of STYX. He usually hung with JY the most over anybody else, but I got the feeling that he was like a big brother to Tommy. I loved his outfits he wore. Tommy has always been my rock idol and mentor. I used to write music and lyrics, but stuff happens, and I ended up in the Army! Which is ok, cause I LOVED BEING IN THE ARMY, as TOMMY LOVED BEING IN STYX. When I finally met him at Borders music store here in Colorado Springs, Co, ten years ago this Jul, I could barely talk! I WAS SOOOO FLABBERGASTED and red beyond belief. But Tommy was soooo cool about it, and he just kept smiling and talking to me, and I just felt like a fool. I really wanted to spend time talkin with him, but hey man, he IS my ROCK IDOL!!! He signed everything I brought with me. I am really hoping that when we see them in Red Rocks, we (the family) might have the chance to catch up to all of them and get a great picture. I cannot wait! Amen to that sister, anyone who bad mouths tommy shall answer to me lol.............they just dont look beyond what happened with dennis some fans dont, the past is done cant change it, move on folks.
